რა ჯადოა, რომ ბნელში	What kind of magic, that in the dark
ცის კიბეებით მსვლელი	By way of the sky stairs walker
უცბად ბრწყინდება ლექსი?!	A poem suddenly flashes?!
არა! არც ოდენ სიტყვით,	No! Not with any words,
სიტყვის სიტყვასთან მიდგმით!	By putting word-to-word!
არცა მუსიკით ახლით,	Nor with any music accompaniment,
მძაფრი რიტმით და რითმით!	With blustery rhyme and rhythm!
არა! არც ოდენ აზრით!	No! Not with any meaning!
არა! არც ოდენ ბრძნობით!	No! Not with any profundity!
ლექსი შენდება არცრით ,	A poem is built with nothing,
უპირველესად- გრძნობით!	Primarily- with feelings!
ან- მწუხარების ზაფრით	Or- with anxiety about the new
ან- სიხარულის ელდით!	Or- with lightning strike of happiness!
ან- სიყვარულით მძაფრით	Or- with blustery love
ან- სინანულის ღვენით	Or- with a sigh of regret

This is my first attempt to post
one of my favourite Georgian poems.
I hope you will like it.

მაგრამ ვეღარა დგებოდა,	magram veghara dgeboda,
ცალს მხარს მიწაზე მიითრევს,	Cals mkhars mitsaze miitrevs

                                                        The meaning of the poem

In this poem the main point is fearlessness in the face of danger. This eagle wasn’t scared of anything. You will ask why the poet selected the eagle for a hero and crows as cowards. It is because the eagle is a symbol of strength and bravery, but crows are cowards and very evil.  The eagle is dying with very intense and severe pain, but he doesn’t give up. This is the characterization of a brave person. Even if you are alone and surrounded by bullies, you can find the strength to stand up to them and never back down.
